Scope
What this policy covers
This policy covers cookies, local browser storage, and optional product analytics on Macro by Mark. It does not replace the Privacy Policy; it explains the browser-side controls in more detail.
The site does not load advertising pixels or remarketing tags today. If that changes, the public policy and consent controls should be updated before those tags ship.
Categories
Cookie and storage categories
| Category | Purpose | Choice |
|---|---|---|
| Essential | Required for sign-in, security, CSRF protection, locale handling, account sessions, and abuse prevention. | Always on because the site cannot run safely without it. |
| Preferences | Stores interface choices, dismissed notices, local drafts, chart preferences, and account-adjacent state that is not required for security. | Can be denied in the banner preferences. |
| Analytics | Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights for coarse product and performance signals. | Off until granted. Revocation unmounts the analytics components. |
| Marketing | No advertising pixel or remarketing category is active today. | Not offered as an active choice until a real marketing integration exists. |
Consent
How choices are stored
The consent banner stores the current category choices in local browser storage under the key macro-by-mark:cookie-consent:v1. Consent records are refreshed at least every 365 days, and the footer cookie-preferences link reopens the banner without changing the existing category choices.
Accepting optional cookies grants preference and analytics storage. Rejecting denies every non-essential category. Saving preferences treats any untouched optional category as denied.
Browser signals
Global Privacy Control
When the browser exposes a Global Privacy Control signal, Macro by Mark treats it as an opt-out from non-essential analytics and marketing categories in the local consent store. Essential security and sign-in cookies still run.
The signal is handled in the browser. It is not used to create a separate profile, and it does not change account export, deletion, or correction rights.
