Common questions

Practical answers about getting started, accounts, data storage, plan boundaries, and reporting problems.

Where should I start if I only know the topic?

Use Search first. If the result is a series, follow it into Indicators. If the result is a concept or theory, follow it into Macro. Search covers indicators, knowledge pages, saved dashboards, and core site pages, then hands off broader series searches to Indicators.

Do I need an account to read the public site?

No. Home, News, Calendar, Indicators, Macro, Dashboard Sample, Help, Pricing, and policy pages are visitor-accessible. An account is required when you save a dashboard, set alerts, run exports, or use other account-scoped features.

Why can I open dashboards on Free?

Free accounts can create one custom board and edit up to three widgets. The flow stays open so you can learn the surface before deciding which limits matter.

Where is my dashboard data stored?

Dashboard configuration is saved in your browser by default. Signed-in users on paid plans get cross-device sync. Indicator values come from official-source adapters and the runtime cache, with refresh windows based on each series' release cadence.

What's the difference between Indicators and the Provider Catalog Workspace?

Indicators is the main browsing surface for tracked, normalized series with source notes, history, and a widget entry point. The Provider Catalog Workspace is for exact-code lookups, provider-specific drill-down, and deeper connected-source research before bringing a series into the workflow.

Which routes are public versus account-scoped?

Public, no sign-in required: Home, Search, News, Calendar, Indicators, Macro, Dashboard Sample, Help, Pricing, About, and policy pages. Account-scoped: custom dashboards, account settings, alerts, exports, the Provider Catalog import workspace, and the API.

How do I report a problem with the data, a chart, or a route?

Use the Contact route. Include the indicator or chart URL, the value or behavior you saw, and what you expected. We re-check against the source and reply with whether the issue is in the live data, the mapping, or the rendering.
